PHILADELPHIA - On Monday, PA Reps. Josh Kail, Torren Ecker, and Tim O’Neal (R) called on Harrisburg legislators to start impeachment proceedings against Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner. Corman blamed the recent spike in violent crime in the city on Krasner's failed policies and failure to prosecute criminals. He cited several statistics from the Philadelphia Inquirer, including one that said 140 carjackings occurred in Philadelphia in a single month.
PHILADELPHIA - Providing commuter benefits to employees will soon be a requirement for businesses in Philadelphia. A bill introduced by Councilwoman Helen Gym passed the city council on Thursday and now heads to the mayor's desk for final approval. The bill would require all companies with 50 or more employees to offer benefits such as free transit passes and transit key cards.
PHILADELPHIA - In the past few years, Philadelphia has played host to major events, including the Democratic National Convention, NFL Draft, and Pope's visit. The city is also home to several professional sports teams, including the Philadelphia Union, which has recently seen an uptick in grassroots soccer interest.
