PHILADELPHIA - Iannelli’s Brick Oven Bakery, South Philly’s famous tomato pie and gravy shop which opened in 1910 at 1155 E. Passyunk Ave has begun shipping its products nationwide, as third-generation owner Vincent Iannelli, whose great uncle founded the business, is looking to expand the century-plus old business beyond Philadelphia.

The city's food banks report that more than 16% of people are food insecure. With inflation at a 30-year high and supply chain issues, prices are also rising across the country. PHILADELPHIA - Spataro’s Cheesesteaks has been cranking out cheesesteaks at the Reading Terminal Market for 75 years. Just a hop and a skip away is Fox & Son Fair Foods, which specializes in hand-dipped fancy corn dogs. Now, the two brands have joined forces to create a limited-run “Corn Dog Cheesesteak,” which will only be available at Spataro’s starting Wednesday, February 2nd and through the month of February.
PHILADEPHIA - Philadelphia plans to require vaccine proof for indoor dining establishments in response to the sharp increase in COVID cases across the city. The city's public health director said the decision is necessary to prevent closing all of its indoor dining establishments. However, it will also make it more difficult for businesses to stay in business.
PHILADELPHIA, PA - There's a new sports bar in Center City Philadelphia, and it will be called BarStool Sports. The digital media company has announced the ground-breaking on Instagram. The company is backed by Wyomissing-based Penn National Gaming and will eventually have a number of stand-alone locations featuring the Barstool brand. It will open in Philadelphia later this year. The new bar however will not be a betting parlor.

The hospitality industry is also slowly coming back to Center City, although many professionals are working from home or remotely. The health care industry has experienced its ups and downs but experts are hopeful that more businesses will start opening up again.
