PHILADELPHIA – Drivers navigating the busy Eakins Oval near the Philadelphia Museum of Art are now on notice: new red light enforcement cameras are officially active.
A 60-day warning period began today, Monday, November 10, for the new cameras monitoring the intersection where Kelly Drive crosses by Eakins Oval.
For the next 60 days, motorists who are caught by the automated system running the red light at this location will only receive a warning notice in the mail.
That grace period will end on January 8, 2026.
Starting on that date, the warnings will stop, and any driver who runs the red light will be mailed a $100 fine.
City officials and the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) have implemented the cameras as part of the state's Red Light Camera program, citing the need to increase safety and reduce accidents at the high-traffic intersection.
As with other automated red light camera citations in Pennsylvania, the $100 ticket is a civil offense and does not add points to a driver's license.
