Philadelphia's homicide number has now reached 356th of the year, equaling the toll for all last year and now 38% ahead of last year's numbers.
According to authorities, today's shooting occurred in the Lowe's parking lot in South Philly, in the middle of the day.
The 21-year-old was shot nine times just after 1 p.m. Monday and was taken to Jefferson University Hospital.
The victim was pronounced dead a few minutes after the shooting, and no arrests have been reported.
