Philadelphia, PA – Weckerly’s Ice Cream announced today that it will be closing its Fishtown shop on Saturday, December 23rd, after 11 years of serving up delicious treats. Founded in 2012 by Jen and Andy Weckerly, the ice cream shop has become a beloved staple in the neighborhood.

“It’s been a good run, and we are grateful to have been surrounded by an incredible team and inspiring collaborators,” said Jen and Andy Weckerly. “Whether you’re reading this as a customer, co-worker (past or present), supplier, collaborator, neighbor, or simply a well-wisher, THANK YOU for participating in this remarkable experience. You haven’t just supported us; you’ve inspired new flavors, pushed our creativity, and been an inseparable part of Weckerly’s Ice Cream. We look forward to sharing a few more scoops with you before the year’s end.”

The couple also announced that their partners at Lil Pop Shop will be wrapping up retail operations this year, with the last day of service at the West Philly shop being Saturday, December 2nd. Lil Pop Shop will continue Popalong catering into 2024. The last run of t-shirts and sweatshirts from both shops will also be coming soon, with pre-orders available later this week. They also encouraged customers to use any remaining gift cards before their last day on December 23rd.
