PHILADELPHIA - Royal Boucherie in Old City, the lively, atmospheric neighborhood bar and restaurant, will revive its pre-pandemic Dogs on the Deck charity hotdog competition. The event will pit the area's top chefs against each other to determine the best hot dog creation. It will occur on Thursday, August 24, from 6-9 PM.
Five Philadelphia chefs will compete in Dogs on the Deck, held on Royal Boucherie’s vibrant and lush second-floor terrace. They will serve their most creative hot dog creations to guests. Dogs on the Deck is slated to take place on Thursday, August 24, just two days before National Dog Day on Saturday, August 26, and the contestants are:
- Val Stryjewski representing Royal Boucherie

- Chad Durkin representing Porco’s Porchetteria
- Eli Milligan representing Rosemary
- Adam Volk representing Redcrest Kitchen
The event will feature a sampling of each contestant's hotdogs and a vote to determine which sausage is the best. Boardroom Spirits, the co-sponsor for Dogs on the Deck, will provide complimentary cocktails. Royal Boucherie is also holding a raffle with some great prizes. Tickets cost 40 dollars per person.
