Grand Opening Of 70SIX Boutique Brings Women’s Fashion, Accessories And Home Goods To Northern Liberties Business Improvement District
70SIX Boutique is a brand new boutique that features women's fashion, accessories, home decor, and gifts all under $100, presented by owner Lindsey McKinney. The grand opening will be this Saturday, April 30th, at 215 West Laurel Street, with a celebration from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Shoppers are invited to enjoy complimentary champagne, 10% off shopping, and a chance to win prizes. This is one of fifteen grand openings, and new business announcements in the rapidly growing district this spring and summer, following high-profile openings for Craig Laban-approved Pera Turkish Cuisine and eco-store/refill station Ray's Reusables. Opening hours for the launch of 70SIX Boutique are Wednesday to Saturday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Sunday, Noon to 5:00 pm.
"Northern Liberties has been waiting for a clothing boutique like 70Six for so long, and we are thrilled to welcome Lindsey to the district's list of female-owned small businesses," said Northern Liberties Business Improvement District Executive Director Kris Kennedy. "We hope this accelerates a trend of boutiques seeking a storefront here. We have the demographic to support businesses like this, and the more, the merrier. My favorite part of 70Six is how affordable it is. For less than what you might drop with an online retailer, you can put together an ensemble that can make three different outfits."
70SIX Boutique in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, strives to offer our customers a carefully curated collection of women's clothing, home accents, and gift items, all under $100. The owner and buyer for the store, Lindsey McKinney, aims to select quality pieces that are modern and on-trend, can be styled in multiple ways, and will last you for seasons to come. The store's goal is to create a space where customers feel welcomed and supported in finding their style. The store inventory includes everything from activewear to special occasion wear and everything in between. It is crucial to McKinney that they allow our customers to pick up last-minute items for special events or gifting. Still, ultimately they want 70SIX to be a place where customers can conveniently shop for any of their everyday wardrobe needs.
The owner, Lindsey McKinney, started noticing that although online shopping is literally at everyone's fingertips, it can be very inconvenient and unsustainable in many ways. She spent hours browsing vast online websites, deciding what to order, and spending money on shipping to make another trip to the post office to return the items that didn't work out. She realized that having a neighborhood clothing store would solve some of these problems, and that's why 70SIX was born!
Lindsey chose to open the shop in Northern Liberties after moving to the neighborhood from Fishtown in early 2021. She said, "I realized that the neighborhood needed more retail because it is densely populated with busy students, young professionals, and growing families. I'm so excited that I immerse myself into the community and meet new people at the store every day."
She added, "I have always wanted to start a business, and I've always loved clothes. When I decided to leave the education field, I knew it was time to give opening a boutique a shot."
70SIX Boutique is the perfect spot to shop for spring fashion and Mother's Day gifts for Mom and the other extraordinary ladies in the family.
