Philadelphia, PA (September 15, 2023) – The South Street Headhouse District is getting ready for Halloween with two spooky events that will make this fall season memorable. On Saturday, October 28, 2023, the district will host PumpkinFest 2023 at the Headhouse Shambles (2nd and Pine Streets). Then on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, they will host their first-ever South Street Halloween Costume Crawl & Bar Bash.
PumpkinFest 2023 will include family-friendly Halloween arts and crafts, free trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, circus performances, a costume contest with four categories (5 and under; 6 to 10 years; 11 and over; and families), plus potions and bites from neighborhood businesses. Sponsored by Frankford Candy and TargetPark, it’s free to participate in PumpkinFest. Trick-or-Treating in the South Street Headhouse District is also free for anyone who wants to join. Physical and digital maps will be available to help guide Trick-or-Treaters on and around South Street.
The Costume Crawl & Bar Bash kicks off at 7 p.m. at 5th & South Streets and ends at the Headhouse Plaza on 2nd & Lombard Street. Hosted by Jarbeaux of The Bearded Ladies Cabaret, participants can compete in four costume categories (Spooky & Scary; Silly & Wacky; Sexy & Sultry; Pop & Trendy). Participants must be 21+, but all are welcome to join the Crawl. Contest registration is now open for those interested in competing for $1,000 goodies from district businesses! Sponsored by Stateside Vodka and TargetPark. Participants in the Costume Crawl will receive exclusive access to spooky specials all night long!
