Harrisburg PA - The state's largest agricultural event is returning in 2022. Following last year's cancellation due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the state's Farm Show will feature new food items, a larger market, and even beer from the Pennsylvania Preferred Culinary Connection. The event will be held January 8-15 in Harrisburg. Visitors are encouraged to wear masks to protect themselves from the invasive virus.

For those of legal drinking age, attendees can buy a brew to take home or leave a message for a fallen veteran. The festival will feature an Ag Explorer educational scavenger hunt, a butter sculpture competition, and a lion dance. Afterward, visitors can join in the 'Celebrity Feed Scurry,' which features farmers, dairy farmers, and other industry leaders competing with a team of draft horses.

A new partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will highlight the contributions of Pennsylvania's servicemen and veterans. The Agriculture Department and the military will work together to recognize Pennsylvania's service members and veterans with a special booth and award a special trophy. The event will feature an Army-Navy Cook-Off and a PA Preferred Culinary Connection stage. Additionally, the State's Farm Show will feature an Ag Explorer scavenger hunt, where visitors can learn about the history of Pennsylvania. The show complex will also have a beer garden, and attendees can purchase beer.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is back in the state and promises to be bigger than ever. With virtual components and a focus on the future of the agricultural industry, the 2022 Farm Show will be unlike anything else in the country. The Department of Agriculture will ask visitors to don masks to ensure they're not being harassed by farmers or other exhibitors. A huge draw at the show is the food court, which opens for previews on Jan. 7 from noon until 9 p.m. Menu items will include a variety of deep-fried vegetables, apple dumplings, trout sandwiches, and portabella mushroom burgers.
