PHILADEPHIA - On Monday night, Philadelphia's Italian Market was the site of The Longest Cheesesteak.

The record-breaking event was in honor of Rim Café's owner Rene Kobeitri, during his annual birthday bash.

Philly Makes The World's Longest Philly Cheesesteak

But this year was different as chefs from all over South Philly and beyond banded together to make the world's longest cheesesteak. Breaking the previous record of 480 feet, and making a whopping 510-foot long cheesesteak. Although the record-breaking attempt was not made official, so the previous record still stands.

The feat took up three city blocks along with South Philly's Italian Market. Beginning at Wharton St to Washington Ave on 9th St.

All the proceeds raised during the event went to helping those affected by the COVID pandemic.
