PHILADELPHIA - Forsythia, Chef Christopher Kearse's modern and creative French Bar and restaurant located in Old City, welcomes the return of the famous Center City District Food and Drink Week (Sunday, September 10 through Saturday, September 23) with an ultra-elevated three-course prix fixe menu for only $40 per guest in addition to increasing the hours of operation at Forsythia to seven days per week.


Participants in the 20th-anniversary celebrations of Center City District Restaurant Week at Forsythia can choose a dish from three menus comprising appetizer, main course, and dessert. All of them are curated by the chef/owner Christopher Kearse. The seasonal, imaginative prix fixe menu includes Yellow Corn Vichyssoise with Jonah crab, coconut, and puffed rice, Escargots a la Provencale with chartreuse-garlic-tomato butter and bergamot croutons, Rohan Duck Breast comprised of pickled plum, pistachio, and shiitake mushroom, Whole Roasted Hen of the Woods Mushroom fashioned with lentils du puy, caramelized cipollini onion, and madras curry, and Peach Melba Vacherin with peach compote, raspberry, white chocolate cremeux, and meringue.

In terms of special sippers, the Beverage Director Shawn Miller is whipping up Eat to the Beet(Knob Creek Rye Whiskey Luxardo Abano beet-infused vermouth) along with Japanese Whisper (Haku Vodka grapefruit, sake, pine bitters made by the house) and is available at a cost alongside Forsythia's extensive range of French wines, craft beers as well as spirits.

For the first time ever since the outbreak, Forsythia will expand hours of operation beyond Center City District Restaurant Week to include happy hour and dinner services on Tuesdays and Mondays. Beginning on Monday, September 11, Forsythia will be open all week long for foodies and those who drink to revel In Forsythia's highly inventive, delicious, exquisitely prepared food and drink menu daily.

The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday between 5pm to 10pm and Sundays from 5pm to 9pm for dinner service. Saturday and Sunday between 10:30am and 2pm for the brunch. The hours are Monday through Friday between 5pm to 7pm and Sunday from 5pm to 9pm for happy hour.
