NEW JERSEY - On the heels of a successful and charitable 20th-anniversary celebration, Sabrina's Café, the locally grown group of popular breakfast, lunch, and brunch restaurants, is continuing its community contribution by hosting a one-day-only fundraiser in support of Cherry Hill High School East's award-winning student-run newspaper, Eastside — Friday, April 30 from 8 am to 3 pm at Sabrina's Collingswood location.

Sabrina's Café Hosts Fundraiser in Support of Cherry Hill High School

Eastside has been a treasured publication in the Cherry Hill township for 52 years and within the DeAbreau family. Spencer DeAbreau, son of Sabrina's Cafe owners, Robert and Raquel, is currently the Eastside Business Manager. Their daughter, Sabrina, also worked on staff while at Cherry Hill High School East years ago. After a tough financial year for the decorated student-run newspaper, Robert and Raquel quickly organized this fundraiser. Fifty percent of all sales on Friday, April 30 at Sabrina's Café Collingswood will be donated to Eastside.

"Eastside has not only been a community treasure for 50 plus years, but it has also played a large role in our family as both of our children have worked at the paper," said Robert DeAbreu, Co-owner of Sabrina's Café. "Raquel and I want to support these hard-working students — who haven't been in school for over a year yet still continue to publish content daily — and their beloved Journalism teacher Greg Gagliardi, with this fundraiser. So, come out, eat some good food and support everyone's favorite New Jersey high school paper."

Eastside has won dozens of awards over the years, including the New Jersey Distinguished Journalism Award for ten years straight, making it the most decorated high school newspaper in New Jersey with significant national recognition.

Sabrina's Café Collingswood is located at 714 Haddon Avenue.
