PHIADLEPHIA - Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week by the NBA. He was one of two players to average at least 35.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists during this period. Embiid's 151 points scored were also the highest among all players.

Embiid's impressive week included back-to-back 40-point performances against the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets, bringing his total to eight 40-point games this season. He also set a new record with his 17th consecutive 30-point double-double, surpassing Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Embiid also placed seventh on the franchise scoring list with over 11,700 career points.

With his outstanding performance, Embiid continues to make a strong case for the MVP title, averaging 35.0 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 5.9 assists over 31 games this season.
