PHILADEPHIA - Wawa, a popular American convenience store chain, has announced the closing of another Philadelphia store due to operational challenges and COVID impacts.

Wawa has confirmed the closing of the store at 13th and Chestnut streets, down the street from Tradesman. The closure comes a few weeks after the chain closed its other Center City location on Erie Avenue. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wawa is continuing to experience challenges in operating its stores. While the company's other Philadelphia locations have not yet been impacted by the closures, it has already shut down more than half of its city stores, citing operational challenges and other factors.

According to the company, operational challenges are the cause of the closing of the Center City location.
