PHILADELPHIA, PA - Philadelphia’s Health Department revealed the newest guidelines on senior day services, also known as older adult day centers.
Senior Day Services Allowed to Reopen Starting May 1
Due to the high level of risk for participants in these settings, the Philadelphia Health Department strongly encourages that at least 80% of all participants/seniors and 80% of caregivers and staff are vaccinated at these facilities.
All persons must wear surgical and cloth masks with the exception of mealtimes, social distancing will be required, and capacity will be set at 10 persons per 1,000 square feet and a minimal of 15 persons in a room.
The new guidance goes into effect on Saturday, May 1, 2021, and can be found on the City’s COVID-19 website.
Please note that adult day centers are different from traditional Senior Centers, which provide services to active seniors in the community.
