PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is pleased to announce Ms. Tamyra Ramsey as the new Acting Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This appointment reflects the department's commitment to prioritizing DEI and building trust within the community.

A native of West Philadelphia, Ms. Ramsey is highly regarded as a thought leader and educator in the field of DEI. She has a proven track record of facilitating positive change within organizations and is known for gracefully and tactfully navigating difficult conversations.

Ms. Ramsey holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Mason University, where she spearheaded an initiative to improve relationships between students, housing, and the university police department. This experience ignited her passion for bridging the gap between public safety officials and the community.

With a professional certificate in DEI from the Wisconsin School of Business and ongoing studies for a Master's in Urban Health from Drexel University, Ms. Ramsey brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role. She has also received training as an instructor for the Philadelphia Police Department.

Before joining the Philadelphia Police Department, Ms. Ramsey worked as a DEI consultant for Uplifting Impact, a leading consulting firm. She is also an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Sanctuary Church of Deliverance.
