POTTSVILLE, Pa - Yuengling America’s Oldest Brewery, celebrated its four-year partnership with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) with a $50,000 donation to the organization. The donation will be integral in supporting TAPS’ health and wellness programs and their opportunities for survivors of military losses.

“For many years, Yuengling has sought out ways to show our gratitude for the sacrifices that our nation’s heroes, and their families, have made,” said Debbie Yuengling, Employee Engagement & Culture Manager, and 6th generation family member, D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. "We continue to partners with incredible organizations, like TAPS, that work to help military veterans, survivors, and families suffering from loss. We’re proud to play a part in helping TAPS offer survivors programs and support that help with their grief journey so they can grow their self-confidence and wellbeing.”

This year’s donation will go towards helping people like Melinda Kane, who has benefitted directly from Yuengling’s work with TAPS. Melinda turned to TAPS and their programming after losing her eldest son Jeremy, a U.S. Marine Corps who served in Afghanistan in January 2010. Yuengling hopes that this year’s donation will continue to help others in the same ways and more.

Last year, Yuengling’s $50,000 donation to TAPS aided in providing comfort, care, and resources to those struggling in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, TAPS was able to connect with more military survivors than ever before. Additionally, TAPS was able to open up its TAPS Women’s Empowerment program to welcome survivors virtually, which has seen an increase of over 1400% in the number of women attending virtual and in-person programs.

“Yuengling continues to show unwavering commitment to our TAPS Families,” said TAPS Founder and President Bonnie Carroll, a 2015 Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient. “Over the past four years, Yuengling has generously supported our programs that help military survivors to move forward with joy, gratitude, courage, and resilience.”

Over the years, Yuengling has shown continued support for our nation’s heroes. The Brewery has donated more than $500,000 since 2016 to various military-centric organizations, including Team RWB, Operation Gratitude, and TAPS, in support of their collective efforts for our nation’s military heroes.

To raise additional awareness for the great military charity partners, America’s Oldest Brewery hosted a Yuengling Military Appreciation Day on Thursday, May 27, where $1 of proceeds for every pint sold that day went to TAPS and Team Red White & Blue (Team RWB), a nonprofit organization forging America's leading health and wellness community for veterans. This event builds on Yuengling’s recent launch of its Stars & Stripes program, an initiative dedicated to supporting our nation's military through Team RWB. Twenty percent of proceeds from all items from the Stars & Stripes merchandise collection sold during May benefitted Team RWB.

As part of the Stars & Stripes program and its partnership with Team RWB, Yuengling recently rolled out limited-edition camouflage cans, emblazoned with a unique desert camouflage print and Team RWB logo. Lee Brice, American country music singer-songwriter and Curb Records recording artist, is also involved in the Yuengling Stars & Stripes program and will promote donations to Team RWB through performances on behalf of the Yuengling brand, fan meet & greets chances to win tickets, and other music giveaways.
