Philadelphia's revamped offense set the tone early behind Jalen Hurts' three touchdown passes, Dallas Goedert’s two scores, and a spark from newcomer Dontayvion Wicks. However, Washington fought back behind Jayden Daniels, scoring with just 61 seconds remaining to pull within two. The game was ultimately decided when defensive tackle Moro Ojomo blew up Washington's game-tying two-point conversion attempt in the backfield, allowing Philadelphia to edge out the Commanders and start the year 1-0.
