PHILADELPHIA — At least one person was injured Wednesday morning following a crash involving a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) work crew on northbound Interstate 95 in Northeast Philadelphia. Authorities reported the collision around 10 a.m. near Cottman Avenue, where the contractor crew was on site for the I-95 BS2 construction project.
Aerial footage from the scene showed heavy front-end damage to a white SUV along with a damaged PennDOT work truck. First responders were seen treating a construction worker at the scene before transporting them by stretcher to a waiting ambulance; while PennDOT confirmed injuries occurred, officials have not yet released conditions or specific identities, and an exit ramp in the area remained closed through the morning as traffic squeezed by.
