Chadds Ford, PA - Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania - Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates would like to inform you of their next speaker of the Revolutionary Speaker Series at Brandywine Battlefield Park on Saturday, The 23rd of September, 2023, between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
Our speaker is Andrew Outten, the historical program manager for the Society of the Cincinnati and the American Revolution Institute in Washington, D.C. The program will focus on William Faden, who was among the top British mapmakers in the latter part of the 18th century. With some significant changes, Faden reproduced his 1778 map of the Battle of Brandywine in 1784. Based on his latest research, Mr. Outten examines the motives for developing later editions and the general complexity of the production of maps in the eighteenth century.
Following the presentation, guests are invited to visit the Brandywine Battlefield Park's exhibit gallery. Afterward, they can take part in a tour or both tours in the afternoon and have a drink or two. Tickets cost $20.00 ($23.18 in total). (with charges) per person.
