WHITEMARSH, PA. - A 40-car CSX train derailed early Monday morning near Stenton Avenue and Joshua Road.

CSX reported that 16 cars fell off the Northern Southern track. The train derailed just before 5 am in Montgomery County, according to police.

Hazmat teams were called, but the police stated there was no known danger to the public. CSX reported that one of the cars transported hazardous material. However, there were no signs of leaks or spills.

The 5000 block Camburn Road was evacuated. The police said they do not believe any further evacuations will occur.
