Philadelphia, PA The much-anticipated second annual Philadelphia Polo Classic will return to Fairmount Park in September 2023 following the success of last year’s inaugural event, which benefited local non-profit Work To Ride. This year's event is expected to attract 5,000 guests. It will feature world-renowned polo players and luxury experiences.

Annual Polo Classic Returns For A Second Year

Philadelphia's polo champ, Kareem Roser, will lead his team to two Polo Matches. This includes the Feature Cup Match, where he'll face world-famous polo players Nacho Figueras and his team for a highly anticipated rematch. The Polo Classic will be an exciting competition with the help of Nick Roldan, a nationally recognized polo player, and other players from the Work to Ride Program.

The first match will feature teams made up of alumni and current Work to Ride Program members, highlighting the young adults that have excelled in the unique urban equestrian environment. Alyssa Parren, a Work to Ride participant recently accepted to Harvard University, and Mosiah Guresande, the MVP of last year's Feature Cup Match, will be among the participants.

Kareem Roser, Work to Ride alumni, Board member, and Polo Champion, said, "Last Year, our Event Became a Milestone in Philadelphia History as it was the first Polo Classic held in Fairmount Park. Let alone one that featured a Black polo player competing on the same field." This year, we want to continue pushing the boundaries of this fantastic sport and showcase the talent in our community. We also want to prove that the sport of the kings is accessible to all, regardless of background.

The 2023 Philadelphia Polo Classic promises to be more spectacular than ever, thanks to new and returning sponsors like the famed Ganzi Family. The Philadelphia Polo Classic Lounge will offer reserved seating on the field for four groups. There will also be 10-person VIP tents with an all-day catering tent.

Lezlie Hiner, the founder of Work to Ride, said: "As our eyes turn to the 2023 Polo Classic, we are reminded about the impact that this event and Work to Ride have had on our past and current program members." Through our program, we can support young adults who deserve it, like Alyssa and Mosiah. Both have realized their dream of going to college. We look forward to continuing the mission of empowering Philadelphia youth and celebrating them through a more significant event in the Fall.

The proceeds from this event will be used to support Work to Ride and the capital campaign to continue investing in the indoor riding center and facility. Work to Ride leaders has raised $10 million from their $ 12 million campaign goal. This will expand Work to Ride resources and facilities to reach underserved youth.
