PHILADELPHIA - Local artisan ice cream shop Owowcow Creamery is getting scooped up by Eagles fever. The beloved frozen treat brand has created an Eagles handheld football-shaped ice cream product to celebrate the NFC’s No. 1 seed in the NFL postseason!

Owowcow Creamery is Selling Eagles Ice Cream Footballs

Dubbed “The NEW Philly Special,” these handheld ice cream footballs are filled with Owowcow’s handcrafted sweet honey cream ice cream, Dock Street Brewery Porter fudge, and layers of handmade soft pretzel cookie dough and dark chocolate. It retails for $8 apiece at all five Owowcow locations (Ottsville, PA; Wrightstown, PA; Easton, PA; Chalfont, PA; and Lambertville, NJ).

“This is a flash sale - something we're producing to celebrate the Eagle's amazing run to the NFL playoffs this season. Only a limited amount will be available in all stores,” said Shira Tizer Wade, Owowcow’s managing director. “We’ll produce another batch every time the Eagles win a game during the playoffs. If we win the Super Bowl, we will make limited edition gold footballs and donate the proceeds to the Eagles Charitable Foundation, which provides comprehensive eye care, vision screenings, and prescription glasses to underserved children in our area.”

The Eagles will play their Divisional Round playoff game against the New York Giants at Lincoln Financial Field at 8:15 p.m. this Saturday, January 21st.

Founded in 2009, Owowcow handcrafted ice cream is made daily with organic and locally sourced ingredients. It is one of a handful of ice cream companies in the U.S. that the Department of Agriculture licenses to make their ice cream base from scratch.
