PHILADELPHIA – Jet Wine Bar, Philadelphia’s “global vineyard" and South Street's urban oasis, is kicking off Pennsylvania Wine Month this October by highlighting local wineries through the Meet the Maker Happy Hours series, held every Thursday in October from 5 – 8 pm. Wine connoisseurs can indulge in flights and bites and sip on Jet Wine Bar’s signature wine flights after each event (or until wines are sold out).

In the foliage-filled garden space adjacent to Jet Wine Bar, surrounded by greenery and mural-clad walls, guests can sip a bevy of wines from across the Keystone State and meet the folks who bring the delicious libation from grape to glass. The spotlighted makers will include those from hyper-local wineries like Mural City Cellars in Kensington to Mazza Vineyards from Erie, Pennsylvania, to 1723 Vineyards in Landenberg, Pennsylvania. All events are first come, first served, and pay-as-you-go.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating Pennsylvania Wine Month and featuring some of our favorite local wineries,” said Nick Baitzel, Director of Operations at Sojourn Philly. “If there’s one thing we know, it’s good wine. Pennsylvania Wine Month presents a fun opportunity to showcase winemakers all in our home state, which provides some contrast to our typical ongoing rotation of global wines.”

See below for a list of local wineries that will pop up at Jet Wine Bar throughout October.

Thursday, October 6 - To kick off Pennsylvania Wine Month, Jet Wine Bar will host an evening showcasing five premier local wineries: Karamoor Estates, Stony Run, Mazza Vineyards, 1723 Vineyards, and Mural City Cellars. Flights of five wines, featuring one from each winery, are available ($29).

Jet Wine Bar’s current hours of operation are as follows: Sunday 12 – 8 pm, Wednesday through Friday 5 – 11 pm, Saturday 12 – 11 pm. Happy hour is available Wednesday through Friday from 5 – 7 pm and happy hour on Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 2 pm.

Jet Wine Bar’s greenery and bar would not be complete without the murals that adorn the space hand-painted by Philadelphia muralist Carlos ‘Calo’ Rosa. In addition to Calo’s work, the garden’s beautiful art space also features works by local artists Oluwafemi and Priscilla Anacakuyani.
