PHILADELPHIA - A high school reunion in Philadelphia is disrupted after a tree falls onto people. The tree landed in the section of the food court reserved for the reunion. According to the Philadelphia Fire Department, eight people were transported to area hospitals. The incident occurred during the annual celebration for West Philadelphia High School graduates. The Philadelphia Fire Department confirmed that the incident had no serious injuries.


The tree that fell was not young. At the high school reunion in Philadelphia, a white oak tree estimated to be ninety years old fell onto the crowd. The event took place at the Belmont Plateau near Mann Center. Police initially reported that six people were injured. At the time of the accident, there was no word on what caused the tree to fall.
