Special Olympics Pennsylvania to Host Philadelphia’s First-Ever UNcathlon

Norristown, Pa. – Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) will host the first-ever Philadelphia UNcathlon on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Philadelphia Eagles NovaCare Complex in South Philadelphia, Pa. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The UNcathlon embodies SOPA’s mission of inclusion and acceptance through sport and consists of athletic team challenges and an additional fundraising element. 

The UNcathlon comprises 16 co-ed teams of five participants, including two SOPA athletes per team. These teams will go head-to-head in eight sports skills events: football throwing, football field goal kick, 40-yard dash, team relay, standing long jump, erg rowing, bocce skills, and soccer skills – with the ninth event being the team fundraising competition.
